ACEMP-POLICY ADVOCACY WORK IN VIDEOS

We are strong subscribers to the long-term adage that a picture speaks a thousand words. We capture our advocacy and policy enagement activities in motion picture to share with our partners and audiences whom we cannot reach on an individual basis. We share and learn from regional and international best practices in the extractive industries while showcasing some domestic, regional and international educative, informative and provocative documentaries. Oil, Gas, Energy and Mining are international resources, we keep truck of global market trends in the resource sector to inform out domestic and regional policy advocacy dialogues and reform strategies within East Africa.

Electricty Sub-sector Dialogue in UG

Acemp has actively engaged stakeholders in the power-subsector in Uganda to improve service delivery. We are actively engaged in advocating for energy security as an engine of sustainable development in Uganda.

Life of a Kenyan Miner

This documentary gives us an Insight into the lives of small scale artisanal miners across East Africa through the eyes of a Kenyan Local miner. Regional fiscal, policy and regulatory are required across East Africa to ensure that host local communities become active participants in the emerging commercial industry.

 

 

Such policies will promote and uplift the welfare of local communities, provide employment, facilitate the building of the long sought infrastructure, education and health service. It is now the duty of the Kenyan government and other regional stakeholders to make this a reality.

The Economics of Oil & Gas 

Daniel Yerdin's "The Prize" gives us an insight into the geo-polititics and economic dimensions of the Oil and Gas Industry. A recommendation to researchers and students of the black-gold industry. 

Mining Externalities in WA

This documentary sums up the socio-economic benefits of the mining industry, negative externalities of a 2-speed economy-or resource curse, the social impact of the mining industry to miners and local communities. The Western Australian mining economy experience is a good learning experience to the East African economies.

 

As we promote the extractive industry  in the region, there are policy issues that require a holistic approach. This calls for an all inclusive dialogue between stakeholders in East Africa's mining industry. Enjoy this documentary.

Tullow Oil Plc's doscovery of hydrocarbons in Uganda in 2006 has caused a game change in the East African region. The industry continues to attract foreign direct investment to respective governments in the EAC.

 

Geothermal Technology in E.A

East Africa's energy per capita is one of the lowest in the world with an average of less than 10% of the over 150 Million population having access to Electricty. To secure energy security across the region requires harnessing the region's rich renewable energy sources and well proven reserves of solar, hydrology, wind and geothermal.

 

 

Kenya is the leading geothermal-technology developer and one of the top 10-geothermal producers in the world. It has over the last decades acquired a wide range of sector experiences and built its capacities as documented herein that other regional states can benefit from.
