ACEMP-BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The ACE-BOARD is constituted of a minimum of four and maximum of nine external board-members. Female representation on the Board is at par with male board members. The three external board members shall be senior, experienced and respected Members of society holding a minimum of a Master's degree in the fields of Economics, Energy or Mineral Policy, Public Finance Management and a Senior Advocate and member of the East African Law Society. Board Members' service on the Board shall be 4 years with an alternative for a one term renewal thereafter. 

DR. JOSEPH MUVAWALA 
Board Chairman - Uganda

 

Joseph is the Chairman Board of Directors of Africa centre for Energy and Mineral Policy (ACEMP). He is a distinguished academician and economist. Currently he is the Executive Director of the National Planning Authourity.  

 

Joseph had a distinguished career as the chief economist at the African Development Bank in Tunisia. He served under the UNDP-AfDB as the Chief Economist in South Sudan before returning to head Uganda's National Planning Authority. He brings a wide range of experience dealing with goverments, Public policy and Private Sector Enterprises.

 

ACEMP is previliged to benefit from his wise counsel and leadership. He supports the Organisation in reaching out to Key domestic, regional and International partners in raising resources necessary to execute the mandate of the Organisation. He guides the organisation's policy formulation framework and implementation.

Oversees all our Organisation fundraising and Consultancy work. As a board member, he reports to the board about the stragic plans for consultancy, research and advocacy work to be executed annually. In the conduct of his work, he works closely with  the Executive Director to ensure that all programs are facilitated and executed in accordance with the agreed Annual Action plans.

Mumbi is charged with overseeing the work of the Organisation at the Regional Office in Nairobi-Kenya. She is charged with identifying and networking with key stakeholders and partners in Kenya, outreach enagements of Community Stakeholders and an advisory role to the Organisation's Business & Human Rights strategies of engagement andsupports the Executive Director in resource mobilisation.
